Runmeter Running & Walking GPS App Reviews

best app for runners

Excellent. I am using Runmeter on my iPhone 4S, paired with a Polar HR sensor and a Casio ST-1000 watch and I have finally dismissed my bespoken Garmin. Activities, plans and routes preparation is done on my iPad and then transferred to the iPhone via iCloud. A Mac App for review and analysis would be the cherry on the ice cream but it is all already so good.

Over All, I love it... But

Ive have had Runmeter for years now and alway use it while I run. I love it, distance, time, current pace, and so on... Its been my go to app for my runs. Now here comes the but... A few weeks ago I was running a mini marathon and had a 7:51 pace and so when Runmeter told me I was at 12 miles I notice it wasnt the same as the 12 mile course sign. So when I finished (13.1), Runmeter said I ran 13.4 miles with 7:51 avg pace. But actually course time said I ran 7:58 avg pace because Runmeter wasnt right. So over all great app, but dont believe in it 100%

Like the app a lot but...

I love this app., but I seem to be having problems connecting with Facebook. Ive had the same problems in the past, but it was fixed upon update. Please work out this bug.

Amazing, but

Runmeter is awesome. While not the prettiest app, the functionality of the app is vast. You dont have to follow one size fits all training plans for marathons, half marathon, or what ever your distance choice is. I have made up my own plan through research for an ultra marathon. It is awesome. Though the Apple Watch wont last that long, but not Runmeters problem. The syncing with iOS calendar is a really useful feature. The amount of data collected and displayed is intense. You can customize all most everything. I gave the app only 4 stars because the Apple Watch app is lacking. My biggest complaint is that the app doesnt have the same functionality with the Apple Watch activity app like Runkeeper and Runtastic do. If you use Runkeeper or Runtastic on the watch a log of the activity will show up in Apple Watch activity app. Definitely worth the 10 bucks though. Runmeter is my go to app.

Great app and customer service

This is a great app for the iPhone whether you are biking, running or walking. And more importantly the customer service is excellent!! Highly recommend this app.

Great app

This app is awesome I was about to spend $ 500 on a garmin smart watch when I was told about this. I havent run in 20 yrs both knees replaced and a double bypass I was tired in not being active so I started running again. I want to do a 5k and used the planning mode to train and in 9 weeks I went from walking a mile and a half to today I ran my first 5k and Im thrilled !!!!! I paid $9 for extra items big deal. TRY IT

Perfect for zone training.

I needed a running app that would notify me when I was over or under my target hr zone and this app is perfect for that. Whenever my hr falls out of zone I get an announcement with a haptic telling me to raise or lower my hr. Now, my Apple Watch can do what my gps fitness watches can do.

Phenomenal training

Hands down best app for run training. Better than any sport watch! (I use with iPhone, NOT Apple Watch) Audio means no eyeglasses required too. Heres the great: With earbud or Bluetooth headphone youve got total control of verbal posting of current pace, distance, average pace, laps, intervals, splits... exactly what ( and only what) you select pre-run. What you want announced will happen by your choice of, say, on demand, or by 1/4 miles, by 5 minutes, by laps.... ANYTHING you choose! Set up several settings named for each type of run you do ( ex.: interval(s), long slow, tempo, race against your previous best, etc) and then just select that activity and go enjoy. Can even set announcements for you to speed up or slow to stay in a specific pace or heart range if you want. Pretty frigin fabulous if you have a 3 button controller on your headphones. iPhone goes in my pocket and I dont touch it again until Im ready to shower. Like a coach whispering in my ear upon request! Super data collection in app and, if desired, posted to calendar, fitness program, or social media. History saved. Every graph I could ever want. Get this app and throw out your Garmin/Ironman watch.

Long time user- best app for run tracking

Ive used this app for years and this is the best one Ive found for runners. Its integration is awesome, the support group is responsive, and they are constantly improving and adding new features. Worth every cent.

Calorie count stops working

When you go for a run, say for a mile or two, straight... Yea it estimates calories burned, but if you pause; as in stop and rest or walk, and then start up running again - the calorie count stays stuck on what you stopped at the first go. I learned this the hard way by accident. I remembered the calorie count, and looked at it again, and sure enough it didnt log my 2nd round of running for the calories. It tracked everything else as far as I could tell though.

ForeRunner

RunMeter has been with me since my iPhone 3. All my friends were buying expensive GPS watches. In fact, my running partner and I were training for a marathon and he ordered $300 GPS device online to use in our training. I looked in the App Store and found RunMeter. We used the RM App once and sent his expensive watch back with out even opening it. RunMeter has been with me ever since. New gimmicks keep popping up on the market, but RM has been steady, efficient, and continues to stay on the cutting edge... which is where I found it in the first place.

Best GPS app!!!!

Have used gps watches, other apps but Runmeter Elite is the best!!

Best app Ive tried

All the features of the other apps but with one they dont have. A manual lap button on stopwatch screen. Well worth the upgrade to premium just for this one option. One wish... If you could race your previous times and have it voice alert you to progress.

Perfect iOS running companion

Wonderfully done to capture all the data you could want and enable sharing it.

Worth every dollar I paid

This was well worth the $20 I paid for it--but for the fact I paid much less. Useful application with excellent value that really helps me track how much and how far I am running and walking. The application contains a lot of functionality, including tracking different types of workouts, graphing workout stats, history, and other. I haven’t tested heart rate tracking. The down side to all this functionality is interface. A couple screens on Runmeter are a little confusing but otherwise once you get it set up it isn’t too hard for daily use. I am really glad to see the vendor continuing to support this application and to keep it up to date.

Best Running App Ive found

I really like this app. It does everything I want. My only request would be I wish it could change from portrait orientation to landscape.

Incredible functionality

Ive used multiple apps, multiple GPS watches and nothing compares to run meter. The ability to program specific interval times and repeats is perfect for my run/walk training program. This app is one of the only with very good integration with Apple Watch. Worth every penny whether running, biking, etc!

Runmeter or go home

In a word, the best. Its sad that if you google the app your hard pressed to find any reviews or info. Think of the app as a garmin on steroids. It takes effort on your part to set it up just right for you and has soooo many options to do so. I have my phone with me for safety for myself and also my parents are older so why not cut the extra clutter and have my phone tracking all my data. Pulse you do not have to put has another device. They are always making tweaks to the app and are the only company that actually reads, responds and gives 100% to the customers that Pay their bills. You do have to pay a year fee for the top end services but well worth it and cheaper then a new watch.

Great app

Love the GPS tracking, laps and calories burned. Definitely recommend.
